SECTION 1 - About the Practice
Q1. What is a concierge gynecology practice?
A: A concierge practice is a membership-based model where you have direct, unhurried access to your physician. At Lamorinda Women's Health, every visit is directly with Dr. Hajyan no nurse practitioners, no handoffs, no rushed appointments. You are never a number here.
Q2. How is Lamorinda Women's Health different from a traditional OB-GYN practice?
A: Lamorinda Women's Health is built around time, attention, and continuity - the things that are hardest to offer in an insurance-based model. Because membership is limited, Dr. Hajyan can offer longer visits, minimal wait times, and care that's never rushed. Your visit is shaped around what you actually need, not a fixed time slot. Care decisions are guided by your health and goals not by billing codes or coverage restrictions. That means more flexibility, more availability, and a relationship with your physician that feels personal rather than transactional.
Q3. Will I always see Dr. Hajyan?
A: Yes. Always. Every visit, every time. You will never be seen by a nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or anyone other than Dr. Hajyan herself. This is the foundation of our concierge model.
Q4. How long are appointments?
A: Appointments typically run 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the nature of your visit. This extended time allows for a thorough evaluation, thoughtful discussion, and personalized care planning one of the real advantages of a direct-pay practice where your care is shaped around you, not a fixed appointment slot.
Q5. How do I become a patient?
A: We invite you to start with a free 15-minute phone consultation with Dr. Hajyan. Call us at (925) 385-7023 ог submit an inquiry through our website and we will be in touch within one business day.
Q6. How quickly can I get an appointment?
A: Members enjoy same-day and next-day appointment access. No more waiting weeks or months to be seen. No more three-month waits just to see any provider, let alone a board-certified OB/GYN.
Q7. Do you offer telehealth visits?
A: Yes. Telehealth is a key component of care at Lamorinda Women's Health. Whether you're across town or traveling elsewhere in California, we're able to offer telehealth visits to keep your care consistent no matter where you are in the state. This flexibility lets us address many concerns remotely, saving you time while maintaining the same personalized attention you'd receive in the office.
Q8. Do you offer home visits?
A: Yes. In special circumstances, Dr. Hajyan and the Lamorinda Women's Health team will come to your home, providing care in the comfort and privacy of your own space. Visits are equipped with the same instruments used in-office, allowing us to perform exams, collect necessary samples, and deliver the same standard of care you'd expect at our practice.
Q9. Do you offer after-hours or urgent access?
A: Yes. Members have direct phone and text access to Dr. Hajyan for urgent concerns. This is one of the key benefits of our concierge membership model.
Q10. What hospitals and surgery centers are you affiliated with?
A: Dr. Hajyan holds hospital privileges with Alameda Health System and performs procedures at Aspen Outpatient Surgery Center. Should your care ever require a hospital or surgical setting, you'll be in familiar, capable hands cared for by a team Dr. Hajyan knows and trusts.
SECTION 2 - Membership
Q1. What kinds of concerns benefit most from membership?
A: Many concerns are complex enough to benefit from the ongoing relationship membership provides particularly conditions that require more than a single visit to properly evaluate, manage, and follow through on. These include menopause and perimenopause, cardiometabolic health, weight management, pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, sexual health, PEMOS (formerly PCOS), urogynecology, skin and bone health in menopause, and genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM). If your concern involves ongoing management or monitoring, membership ensures you have consistent, unhurried access to Dr. Hajyan throughout your care journey.
Q2. What types of concerns are best for a Focused Visit?
A: Choose a Focused Visit for quick, straightforward concerns such as vaginal discharge or urinary symptoms, birth control refill or method change, emergency contraception or STI testing, pregnancy test, IUD check, Pap smear only, or a prescription refill for an existing stable condition. A Focused Visit is also a great option if you simply need a one-time visit and aren't ready to commit to membership membership isn't required for this type of visit.
Q3. Can I set up a payment plan?
A: We know that investing in your health matters, and we want care to feel accessible. While payment is generally expected at the time of service, we understand that circumstances vary and we're happy to discuss flexible arrangements on a case-by-case basis. If cost is a concern, we encourage you to reach out to our office before your appointment for a confidential conversation.
SECTION 3 - Insurance & Payment
Q1. Do you accept insurance?
A: No. Lamorinda Women's Health is a direct-pay, membership-based practice and we don't bill insurance for visits with us. This allows us to spend more time with you and keep your care free from insurance-driven limitations. By remaining independent of insurance, we're able to offer longer visits, flexible scheduling, and care shaped entirely around you never rushed, and never limited to a one-size-fits-all checklist.
Q2. Can I still use my insurance for anything?
A: Yes. Often. Labs, imaging, and prescriptions are typically billed separately by the lab, imaging facility, or pharmacy - not through our membership and many of these may be covered by your insurance plan just as they would be anywhere else.
Q3. Does having insurance still make sense if I join?
A: Yes. Most of our patients carry insurance, and that's perfectly compatible with membership here. Your coverage still works for labs, imaging, screenings, medications, and referrals. Where membership adds value is beyond what a traditional insurance-based practice typically offers services like DXA bone density scans, skin analysis, red light therapy, and advanced wellness screenings. At your visit, you'll pay directly and we'll provide an itemized superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Q4. What is a superbill, and can I get one?
A: A superbill is an itemized receipt of the services you received, formatted so you can submit it to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We're happy to provide one for visits that may qualify ask our office for details on what your specific plan may reimburse.
Q5. What's the process for getting reimbursed by my insurance?
A: If you carry a PPO plan, you may be able to recoup part of our fees through your out-of-network benefits. After your visit, we'll provide a superbill with the billing codes and payment details your insurer needs to process a claim. We'd encourage you to call your insurer before your visit to ask about your specific out-of-network coverage and expected reimbursement rate.
Q6. How can I pay for my visit or membership?
A: We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, with secure payment available directly through our patient portal. Membership fees are also eligible for payment using HSA and FSA funds.
Q7. Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?
A: No. Lamorinda Women's Health does not participate in or bill Medicare or Medicaid. However, patients with Medicare or Medicaid coverage are welcome to receive care with us outside of those programs. Medicare-eligible patients will be asked to sign a private contract acknowledging this arrangement before receiving care.
SECTION 4 - Services & Care
Q1. Do you specialize in menopause care?
A: Absolutely. Menopause medicine is one of Dr. Hajyan's core specialties. She provides evidence-based hormone therapy management, bioidentical hormone therapy, and comprehensive perimenopause and menopause care tailored to your individual health history and goals.
Q2. Do you offer bone density testing?
A: Yes. We have an on-site GE Lunar Prodigy DXA scanner for bone density and body composition analysis. This allows us to screen for osteoporosis, assess fracture risk, and track your bone and muscle health over time all in one visit.
Q3. What is a DXA scan and how does it support bone health?
A: A DXA (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) scan is the gold standard test for measuring bone density and body composition. At Lamorinda Women's Health, we have an on-site GE Lunar Prodigy DXA scanner meaning you do not need to go elsewhere for this important test. The DXA scan measures bone mineral density at the spine, hip, and forearm to screen for osteopenia and osteoporosis, assess your fracture risk using the FRAX calculator, and track changes in bone health over time. It also provides a detailed body composition analysis including muscle mass, fat distribution, and visceral fat - valuable information for metabolic and hormonal health. We recommend DXA scanning for women in perimenopause and menopause, those with risk factors for osteoporosis, and any woman interested in a comprehensive picture of her bone and metabolic health. Results are reviewed directly with Dr. Hajyan, who will create a personalized bone health and treatment plan tailored to your results.
Q4. Do I have to wait until age 65 to get a DXA scan?
A: No. At Lamorinda Women's Health, you do not have to wait until age 65 to have your bone density evaluated. While traditional guidelines recommend DXA screening beginning at age 65, we believe that waiting that long is too late for many women. Any patient who is going through perimenopause or menopause, or who has risk factors for bone loss such as family history of osteoporosis, low body weight, long-term steroid use, smoking, early menopause, or certain medical conditions will qualify for a DXA scan at our clinic regardless of age. Early detection means early intervention, and that can make a significant difference in protecting your bone health for decades to come. Dr. Hajyan will evaluate your personal risk profile and recommend the right time for your first DXA scan.
Q5. Can body composition analysis be done in the office?
A: Yes. Body composition analysis is performed right here in our office using our on-site GE Lunar Prodigy DXA scanner - no outside referral needed. Body composition is routinely done before starting a weight loss treatment program with GLP-1 therapy, giving us a precise baseline measurement of your muscle mass, fat distribution, visceral fat, and bone density. This allows Dr. Hajyan to create a personalized, data-driven weight management plan and track your progress accurately over time ensuring you are losing fat and preserving muscle, which is the key to healthy, sustainable weight loss.
Q6. Do you offer weight management services?
A: Yes. We offer medically supervised weight management including GLP-1 receptor agonist prescribing, metabolic health evaluation, and body composition tracking for sustainable, healthy outcomes.

A: Yes. We provide early pregnancy care including confirmation of pregnancy, initial prenatal evaluation, early ultrasound, and guidance as you begin your pregnancy journey.
